Andreas Glenthøj, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, heads the Danish Red Blood Center at Copenhagen University Hospital - Rigshospitalet, which is the largest diagnostic, clinical, and research facility for rare anemias in the Nordic countries. His research specializes in translating advanced anemia diagnostics to targeted treatment options for patients. 

Dr. Glenthøj is principal investigator on several clinical and pre-clinical trials in rare anemias and iron metabolism. He is an active member of numerous national and international groups in benign hematology including the EuroBloodNet, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency Global Longitudinal Registry, The Severe Chronic Neutropenia International Registry, Nordic Red Blood Cell Group, and the Danish Benign Hematology Study Group. Furthermore, Dr. Glenthøj coordinates the Danish efforts in introducing gene therapy to patients with hemoglobinopathies.
